Overview

Explore Vravrona region during a half-day tour and enjoy a rich brunch at a local dairy shop before arriving at the temple. Vineyards, olive groves, and fig trees surround the Temple of Artemis and the Museum, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking to discover a cultural gem just 45 kilometers outside Athens. In Ancient Greece, the Sanctuary was an important cult center that played a key role in the religious life of Athenian women. According to a myth, this is the temple where Iphigeneia, daughter of king Agamemnon, was brought by her brother Orestis when they met in Tauris, where she served as a priestess in a local temple of Artemis. Iphigeneia had been transferred to Tauris by the goddess Artemis herself when she saved her from the sacrifice by her father before the war of Troy.

East Attica is also a region with very fertile plains and offers a wide range of gastronomic experiences. Besides wine production, the area has a rich farming tradition producing excellent quality dairy products, such as white and yellow cheeses made with fresh goat and sheep milk, velvet yogurt, and flavorful rice pudding. Explore Vravrona during a half-day tour and enjoy a unique cultural and culinary experience!
